GDR MD Attends WOW FestivalThe World of Women((WOW) Film Festival is a short film festival that promotes and awards the talents of women directors, producers, writers, editors and cinematographers in the Australian film industry and internationally. It is presented by the Women in Film and Television NSW, a not for profit member-based organisation committed to improving the status of women, both on and off screen.
WOW Film Festival 2016 ran over four days (28th April – 1st May), across four venues within the heart of Sydney, screening 64 films, 8 panels and three masterclasses with 36 industry panelists. WOW’s opening night alone brought together over 150 directors, film producers, cinematographers and also in attendance was Daizy Gedeon, Managing Director of GDR Group, VIP Director of Clapit and an award-winning filmmaker in her own right.
“It was a tremendous privilege to be a part of this auspicious occasion and to be able to not only acknowledge these talented women across the Australian and international film making world, but also support and celebrate their individual successes”.
WOW 2016 portrays a festival of discovery, celebration, debate and networking coupled with an inspiration that celebrates new films and works by Australian women. The festival offers emerging and established filmmakers the opportunity to screen short film works and promote the theme of “seeing the world through the eyes of women”.
At this year’s festival, there were 13 award winners including Clapit People’s Choice Award, awarded to Natalie van Den Dungen.

Daizy Gedeon, Managing Director of GDR Group, VIP Director of Clapit and award-winning filmmaker in her own right, recently attended the opening of the World of Women’s (WOW) Film Festival held in Sydney earlier this month.
The festival offers emerging and established film makers the opportunity to screen short film works promoting the theme of “seeing the world through the eyes of women”. The WOW Film Festival opening night held a few weeks ago, brought together over 150 talented Australian women including film directors, producers and cinematographers.
